When Cartoon Worlds Collide: A Twistedly Absurd Mashup of Politics and Comicsw with Cartoonists Leigh Rubin & Phil Hands
Date and Time
Thursday Oct 4, 2018
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM CDT
Description
Come share an evening of absurdity with two nationally-syndicated cartoonists, Leigh Rubin and Phil Hands, at the Verona Public Library on Thursday, October 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Rubin is the creator of the comic strip “Rubes”, and Phil Hands is an editorial cartoonist with the Wisconsin State Journal. This odd couple will riff on each other’s cartoons, and show how the twisted minds of two very different cartoonists work. Rubin’s work focuses primarily on the hilarity of animal and human nature, while Hands draws stranger creatures: politicians. If you’ve ever wanted to meet a professional smart aleck or a full-time doodler, here's your chance. In the spirit of the evening, door prizes will be raffled to unlucky winners. This presentation is free and open to the public. To register, or for more information, visit www.veronapubliclibrary.org, or call 608-845-7180. The Verona Public Library is located at 500 Silent Street.
