Description
The traveling exhibit Immigrant Journeys will be on view at the Verona Public Library from June 17 through July 6. The exhibit introduces eight people who came to Wisconsin from south of the U.S. border. Through images and stories, the exhibit tells of people who have left Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, and Honduras to travel north to the United States. Some have found work. Some have found families. All of their journeys have led them to call Wisconsin home. The Wisconsin Humanities Council has partnered with a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, award-winning journalist, and Centro Hispano of Dane County to produce Immigrant Journeys. This exhibit is funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This exhibit is free and open to the public. For information, visit www.veronapubliclibrary.org, or call 608-845-7180. The Verona Public Library is located at 500 Silent Street.
