Verona Lions To Hold Food Drive In an effort to help curb hungry in our community the Verona Lions will be holding a food drive to benefit the Badger Prairie Needs Network- Food Pantry. The food drive will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Miller & Sons Supermarket, 210 S Main St, Verona from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. As shoppers enter the store a member of the Verona Lions will hand them a list of food and non-food items needed by the pantry. Shoppers are encouraged to purchase one or more of the items as they shop. Collections boxes will be located near the store exit to drop off the donations. It is the club’s goal to collect 1,000 pounds of donated items that day. Cash and credit card donations will also be accepted at the event for the pantry. The Verona Lions Club Foundation is a 501[c]3 charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible. The food drive is part of a “Relieving Hunger” initiative of Lions clubs world-wide to raise public awareness of the vital role Lions clubs play in their communities. Here is the list that could be used for your food drive. • Boxed Cereal (No Sugar Coated) or Oatmeal • Canned Tuna, Chicken, or Salmon, • Canned Fruit in juice or light syrup • Canned Vegetables • White Rice • Cooking Oil • Dried Pinto, Black, or Kidney Beans
