Learn more about the emerging refugee crisis at the Verona Public Library on Thursday, June 20, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Khalil (Haji) Dokhanchi, Ph.D., political science professor at University of Wisconsin Superior, will discuss recent migration patterns, how they have shaped the current refugee crisis in Europe, and what can be learned from the example of asylum seekers in Germany. He will also discuss the meanings of 'displaced person,' 'refugee' and 'migrant,' and open a dialogue with participants to consider the refugee crisis from many angles. This ShopTalk event is brought to you by the Wisconsin Humanities Council and the Working Lives Project, whose goal is to deepen and broaden the conversation about what it means to make a living and a life here.
