Description
One of the joys of planting, caring for, and observing a native plant garden is providing a home for butterflies and moths. Learn more about butterfly and native plant gardens at the Verona Public Library on Thursday, April 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. with Karen Oberhauser, PhD., Arboretum director, UW–Madison professor of entomology, and monarch butterfly expert. Dr. Oberhauser will discuss basic butterfly and moth biology, and plant choices that provide food for both caterpillars and adults. She will also talk about the amazing interactions between butterflies, moths, other insects, and birds. This program is presented in relation to the traveling exhibit, On the Trail of the Monarch Butterfly, coming to the Verona Public Library August 19 through September 29, 2019. The exhibit and this presentation are sponsored by the Verona Public Library Endowment. This presentation is free and open to the public. To register, or for information, visit www.veronapubliclibrary.org, or call 608-845-7180. The Verona Public Library is located at 500 Silent Street.
