DESCRIPTION:The Sterling Hall bombing on the UW-Madison campus was a turning point in the Vietnam anti-war protests in Madison. On Wednesday\, December 6\, from 7 to 8 p.m.\, the Verona Public Library will host a film screening and discussion of The Bombing of Sterling Hall\, a documentary by Christopher Lee that looks back at the bombing through interviews with some of those who experienced it. The bombing occurred on August 24\, 1970\, as a protest by four men against the university's research connections with the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. It resulted in the death of a university physics researcher and injuries to three others. Following the film screening\, Christopher Lee\, owner of Leemark Communications\, will lead a discussion of his 1999 documentary film. This presentation is part of a program series related to the Ken Burns and Lynn Novick film\, The Vietnam War. Programming for The Vietnam War is offered as part of a grant from the American Library Association\, PBS\, and WETA Washington\, D.C. This presentation is free and open to the public.
