Ambassador Spotlight
The Verona Area Chamber of Commerce is happy to recognize our Ambassador of the Month, Scott Wieland! Scott is a long time Chamber Member and always come with a sense of humor and a positive attitude! We had a few questions for Scott, see the interview below.
First, let's get your name and include any nicknames you're willing to share with us.
Scott Wieland
What do you do for work?
I help companies in and around Dane County with their Benefits program. Help them pick the right carrier, right plans to offer, how to structure Employer vs Employee contribution, educate employees and then help with administration of the plans.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I love to workout, especially run. I try to do 4 or 5 runs a year, usually half marathons. I also love to do karaoke and all sports. I have also been in over 50 musicals and plays and will be the Cowardly Lion in the upcoming Wizard of Oz this summer in Verona.
What is your favorite memory of Verona?
Probably doing 7-8 musicals and plays through Verona Area Community Theatre (VACT)
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Professional Theatre or sports broadcasting
What profession would you not like to do?
There are many jobs that I wouldn't/couldn't do because they are so undervalued and underappreciated. Teachers, senior caregivers, daycare center workers and nurses who deserve to be paid way more than they are for all the work they do.
What made you want to become a VACC Ambassador?
I enjoy meeting new people and I love the Chamber and want others to get as much out of the Chamber as I have.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering ambassadorship with the Verona Chamber, what would it be?
If you are looking to meet new people in the area and help shape what the Chamber looks like, this is a great way to do it.
Thanks Scott!
